for its clients, the BSJ Student Saver’s Account and the BSJ e-Cash just months

On June 1, 2005, Banco San Juan (BSJ) opens its branch in
Quezon City to service the needs of the clientele in Quezon City with address at
Delta Building, West Avenue, corner Quezon Avenue. At first thought, one might
ask what is a rural bank doing in Quezon City with all the big banks surrounding
it. Banco San Juan president Mr. Jobel Chua believes there is a huge
opportunity for the bank in Quezon City. “BSJ need not directly compete with
but rather complement the existing banks in the area. Commercial banks are in a
sense our partners since we have depository arrangements with big universal and
commercial banks. In addition, we complement them since we offer products that
they don’t offer, and service a market segment they don’t target.”
Banco San Juan has been operating since 1953 and is the
first and only rural bank member of BancNet, pioneering innovations in the rural
banking industry.

Banco San Juan can service your needs, please call telephone numbers

On the occasion of BANCO SAN JUAN’s (BSJ) 50th anniversary celebration, BSJ
has achieved another FIRST in Rural Banking history, in its continuing effort to
be of better service to its growing clientele.
In partnership with BANCNET, Inc., the largest ATM consortium composed of
several of the top universal and commercial banks in the country, Banco San Juan
is the first and only Rural Bank to become a member of Bancnet or any other ATM
consortium in the country.
Its clients now truly experience the Power of Rural Banking as Banco San Juan
started to offer Day and Night Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Services last
September 12, 2003, when the bank commemorated its 50th anniversary. With its
network of 30 branches, its membership in the Bancnet consortium surely makes it
the Country’s Rural Bank with the widest reach, as clients can now access their
accounts anytime and anywhere in the country, where there are BancNet or
Megalink ATMs.
In line with its motto, Kidlat Serbisyo, Kaibigang Totoo, clients can now
experience the value and convenience of 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
real time banking services. Customers can inquire their balances and withdraw
cash anytime of the day. They can likewise make cash advance transactions from
all BSJ and BancNet ATMs, using their Credit Cards as well as have the
convenience of changing their Personal Identification Number (PIN) or requesting
for printout of their Statement of Accounts.
BSJ’s
Kidlat Kard would soon let clients pay their bills at any BSJ Kidlateller ATMs
and over 3,500 other BancNet and Megalink ATMs nationwide through the Bills
Payment Facility at no extra fees. Valued clients can now do away with long
queues to transact or pay over the counter, and avoid overdue payments on
utility bills. Clients can soon experience the convenience of cashless shopping
at any BancNet Point-of-Sale terminals located in supermarkets, department
stores, convenience stores and other business establishments as BSJ’s KIDLAT
KARD would be good as cash with no interest and extra charges. Customers can buy
prepaid phone loads and internet prepaid loads, reorder checkbooks without going
to the branch where they maintain their account, as well as experience the
convenience of making fund transfers from their account in BSJ to any other
accounts, whether BSJ’s or other BancNet member bank accounts, through the IBFT
(Inter-Bank Fund Transfer) Facility.
BSJ has invested heavily in upgrading its IT infrastructure, in Automated Teller
Machines (ATMs) as well as security hardware and software in order to
effectively deliver this value added and secured service. In fact, BSJ’s ATMs
and Security Hardwares are already compliant and ready for the new EPP, EMV, and
Triple-Data Encryption Standard (DES) security and technology requirements,
which are expected to be required standards by 2004-2005. BSJ is working double
time to raise the standard of service of rural banks and plans to offer a new
line of non-traditional products that would delight and surprise its customers.
Its corporate mission is truly to help the ordinary Filipino fulfill his Dreams.

TARLAC CITY - Banco San Juan took center-stage last month, as its directors,
officers, stockholders and employees, together with its legions of clients,
kicked-off a year-long celebration to commemorate the bank's founding in 1953.
The festivities will reach their climax on September 12, 2003, when the Bank
celebrates its 50 years of highly eventful and competitive existence in the
Philippine banking industry scene.
Banco San Juan has become synonymous with banking. With 30 Banco San Juan
Business Centers established in various strategic locations in Metro Manila,
Southern Luzon, Regions 1 and 3, where its presence is underscored by its 21
branches, the bank has gained the distinction of being the “biggest rural bank
in its class.” By the end of 1990, BSJ ranked 3rd among the then 814 rural banks
throughout the country, and in the first quarter of 1991, it advanced to 2nd
place. In 1993, it became the rural bank in the entire country with the largest
branch network strategically located in different areas of Luzon, five of which
are in Metro Manila, particularly in San Juan, Pasig City, Marikina City,
Muntinlupa City and Valenzuela City. At present, it is the undisputed biggest
rural bank in terms of the number of branches in Luzon.
It has ten branches in Tarlac province and has been visible in the commercial
districts of Baguio City, Olongapo City, Angeles City, San Fernando City, Dau,
Mabalacat and Magalang in Pampanga, Bacoor and Imus in Cavite, Tagaytay City,
Urdaneta City, Dagupan City, San Fernando City, La Union, Cabanatuan City, San
Mateo, Rizal and Antipolo City,
Organized in 1953 by a group of bankers, the bank survived various financial and
economic crises during the 70’s and 80’s unlike other commercial, thrift and
rural banks which were engulfed and overwhelmed by the series of economic crises
and upheavals. In 1988, providence smiled upon the Bank as its new owners
infused fresh capital in the bank and refurbished its image by a number of
adroit and brilliant business strategies, which included a re-organization of
management and sustainable branch expansion. The bank’s vision is to show that
Rural Banks need not mean something small and vulnerable but rather something
promising and realizable. It steadfastly pursues its mission to help the
ordinary Filipino fulfill his dreams.
The bank is presently chaired by businessman Jesus Cano Chua. The other officers
of the bank are Andres Cano Chua, a seasoned banker as Vice Chairman and
Josefina R. Go as Corporate Secretary.
In adherence to BSP’s call for more transparency and good corporate governance,
the bank recently elected three new independent directors: Mr. Felixberto Bustos
Jr., Atty. Joaquin Venus Jr., and Judge Oscar Inocentes. Ms. Gilda Pico,
currently the Executive Vice President for Operations of Land Bank of the
Philippines also sits as the LBP’s representative to the board. The day-to-day
operations and activities of the Bank are administered and handled by the able
stewardship of Jobel G. Chua, a Masters of Business graduate of the prestigious
Asian Institute of Management.
In line with transparency, the bank has also engaged the professional services
of Punongbayan & Araullo, formerly a member firm of Ernst & Young Global, one of
the big auditing firms in the country as its external auditor firm.
For almost 50 years, Banco San Juan has offered what clients want – convenient,
innovative financial services, delivered by understanding and knowledgeable
professionals. Investments in people, technology and training are broadening the
foundation for new delivery channels and financial product offerings, allowing
the bank to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace and provide superior
customer service.
Product innovations have been on top of the bank’s many priorities. Banco San
Juan and Bancnet Inc., representing the largest ATM consortium of several top
and reputable banks in the country, recently inked the Memorandum of Agreement
that paved the entry of Banco San Juan to the consortium’s membership. This is
record breaking as Banco San Juan is the first rural bank to be accepted by the
Bancnet consortium. By next year, the bank expects to offer the convenience of
ATM services to its clients.
The Power of Rural Banking which was BSJ’s corporate tag line last year amply
describes what the bank strives to offer to its clients. With the Bank’s new
tagline, KIDLAT SERBISYO, KAIBIGANG TOTOO, Banco San Juan shall anchor on fast
and friendly services in carrying out its mission.
The bank has since employed into its fold more than 300 employees that will take
care of quality banking service to a wide array of clients. As the countdown to
its golden era begins, BSJ promises a more dynamic banking service that will
have lasting impact in the lives of every ordinary Filipino. |
