Who we are

1988 : Incorporation as Rural Bank of San Juan, Inc
1989 : New shareholders took over and expanded the Bank
1990– 1999 : From a one bank branch, Banco San Juan grew and expanded to a strong
30 branch bank.


Industry Ranking, Milestones and Awards

1990 : BSJ ranked number 3 among 814 rural banks in the country
1991 : BSJ ranked number 2 among 814 rural banks in the country
1993 : BSJ became the biggest rural bank in Luzon in terms of branch network.
1995 : Awarded as the most outstanding Participating Financial Institution for its
Industrial Guarantee Loan Fund program by Development Bank of the
Philippines.
1996 : Awarded as the most outstanding Participating Financial Institution for its
Industrial Guarantee Loan Fund program by Development Bank of the
Philippines.

2000 : Received grand slam award from Western Union as the Most Aggressive New
Business Partner, Highest Increase in Transaction, Highest Number of
Transactions, Largest Volume Amount of Transactions.

2001 : Awarded by Western Union as the Rural Bank with the Highest Number of
Transactions and Largest Volume Amount of Transactions.

2002 : BSJ signed up with BancNet making it the first and only rural bank member to become a member of any ATM consortium.

2002 : Awarded by Western Union as the rural bank with the Highest Domestic Money
Transfer Number in Transactions.

2003 : The bank celebrated its 50th anniversary in the banking industry

2003 : Awarded by Western Union as the 3rd most outstanding Rural Bank for
Western Union Money Transfer Service nationwide.
